ALL ABOUT LIFTING WEIGHTS

"The best way to start is to learn"
Why do we need correct forms in weight lifting?
Weight lifting isn't only a sports game, it's a serious sport that might cause injury just like other sports. (1) The most important reason why we need to ensure that we performed with the correct technique is to prevent injuries. When we lift heavy we use our muscles, joints, and tendons, and if we don't be careful, we might tear or strain them. (2) By maintaining a correct posture every session, we could work out more efficiently as we ensure that we target the muscles that we want. (3) This will result in better and faster results of progress.
When to inhale and exhale?
Do we need to breath?
When lifting weights, you have to inhale during the eccentric phase and exhale during the concentric phase. In other words, breath in when you lower the weights, and breath out when you raise the weights.
Example: When performing a push-up, you inhale when you lower your body to the floor, then exhale when you push yourself back up.

*eccentric phase: lengthening the muscle
*concentric phase: shortening/ contracting the muscle
